Laura Kunimura

Laura Kunimura has 33 years of ballet performance and teaching experience that extends from Washington D.C. to Champaign, Illinois, from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Honolulu, Hawaii. Her most recent productions of Peter Pan, Peter and the Wolf, At the Ballet, Wizard of Oz, Coppélia, and Cinderella have brought performing opportunities and exciting theatre experiences for island children.


Krystle Imamura
Instructor

Ballet 2-3, Hip-Hop, Contemporary

Krystle has been dancing ballet with Laura Kunimura since she was 5 years old and has since expanded to other genres such as hip hop and jazz. She was a member of the Hawaii Swish Dancers sideline team for 2 seasons and was a former gymnast and cheerleader. Her most recent production was Peter Pan, but she also contributed choreography to many past Ala Moana shows. She recently earned her AS in Biology and is an aspiring Pharmacist, looking to attend the pharmacy program at the University of Hawaii at Hilo. She officially became a Dance Island teacher in August of 2016 and she really enjoys teaching the kids about her passion. 


Kira Moriguchi

Kira has been dancing ballet under Laura Kunimura since she was 3 years old. She  also has experience in many different productions at the Leeward Theater as an actress in the following productions: She Kills Monster, Merchant of Venice, In The Heights and many more. She has a strong passion for the arts and teaching and hopes to make an impact on every student. She started teaching at Dance Island in August of 2016 after graduating from Mililani High School. Kira has earned her AA Degree and has dreams of continuing her passions by attending a BFA program.
